Allieds and Dev XI both shine

9 months ago By John Anderson

U-18's wreck Heathens 100% record, and Development Division side win at mid-table Buckingham to move up two places as they play catch-up.

The Greens' Allied Counties side brought Flackwell Heath's perfect six game start to the season to an end at Watchet Lane. Goal either side of half-time from Leo Blackman and Adam Riley put them in control. The Heathens pulled one back but Holmer saw the game out to move within six points of the leaders of the East Divison with two games in hand. A division that looked a foregone conclusion for the Academy based Wilks Park outfit may now turn into at least a two horse race.
The Development XI travelled to Stratford Fields to play only their seventh league game of the season (leaders AFC Dunstable have played 17!) A 2-1 win, thanks to two-goal Raiqwan Joseph now gives them 10 points, and moves them up to 14th place out of 17. Two of their 3 defeats have been against Dunstable, and second placed Harpenden Town.
