After a concerning (to spectators) start to the season with a succession of friendly match defeats, and an opening League match loss to Chalfont St Peter followed by a similar reverse to North Greenford, The Greens have put together 4 wins in a row to go top of the table. After losing their first two home league games, the catalyst for the change seems to be the magnificent effort at Oxford City in The FA Youth Cup where Holmer only succumbed on penalties.
Last night at Berkeley Fields they gained revenge for the earlier home defeat at the hands of North Greenford United. After a goalless first half The Greens scored through Elliot Britton and Oli Powell, before Josh Todd had a goal which would have sealed the result disallowed.
United pulled on back with ten minutes to go, but Holmer were able to see the game out without conceding again after continuing their recent good form.
Luca Perrin has been trialling for England Schools this week.
