The Greens finished off their pre-season preparations with a good win at local rivals Risborough Rangers. After a 2-2 draw with Aston Clinton followed by a 4-0 defeat of Spartan South Midlands' Oxhey Jets, Holmer had succumbed to a 1-4 midweek home reverse at the hands of Bostick League Marlow. The competitive final friendly at Windsors saw Pavel Kotwica give Holmer a half time lead, which probably should have been greater. A second half penalty converted by Curtis Stone, after a foul on Dean Munday, eventually increased the lead. Munday himself connected firmly with a left-wing Stone corner to make it three soon afterwards. However, in the final minutes, Risborough pulled one back from a corner which The Greens should have defended much better.
Overall, a positive pre-season which leads on to an opening Hellenic Premier Division debut at Watchet Lane versus Abingdon United this coming Saturday, August 4th at 3pm.
