The Greens hit 40 points, in February!

By John Anderson

Fourth successive league win propels Holmer to 8th place

A 3-1 win at Reading City means that Holmer have moved onto the usual safety mark of 40 points with plenty of time to go. But with divisions at their level being reduced to 20 clubs (and Oxford City Nomads dropping out before the season had even started, and not being replaced) it is never too early to get the points on the board even before "lateral" movement is considered.
Holmer Green will be applying/indeed pleading to be moved back to The Spartan South MIdlands League. The Club, like many others is extremely vulnerable to the FA's "good for the whole game" attitude. Travelling expenses have increased by £3,000 per season since the involuntary movement to the south and west was enforced, despite the Club's Appeal.
