The Tournament held on 1 September on Watchet Lane was a great success

73 teams, 950 adults and 800 children took part in an action packed day. Particular thanks goes to all the Holmer Green parents who volunteered to help on the day, the coaches who encouraged their teams and the sponsors who contributed to the financial success of the event.
Apart from local Bucks teams, there were also sides from Middlesex, Hertfordshire, and Oxfordshire. The U-9's competition was won by HYC Yellows from Hazlemere who fielded 3 teams in the 12 two groups. In the U-10 section Wendover Juniiors Red prevailed over Downley Dynamos Blues after 20 group matches were followed by a last eight knockout system. In the U-11 Colts contest Chinnor beat Naphill in a close Final after a group stage that involved six teams to start with. At U-12 Minors level, two groups of six were whittled down to four semi-finalists. In the Final St Josephs from The Harrow Youth League won versus Berkhamsted Raiders. Of the four teams that contested the U12 Colts section, Penn & Tylers Green Yellows triumphed over their Blue clubmates in a single goal final. At U13 Minors level, six teams played each other in a group and the Final again went the way of Wendover Juniors,
as they also won 1-0 versus Marlow FC. In the supposedly uncontested or unrecorded results games at U-7 and U-8 ages, a total of 15 teams battled well and all received a medal for their participation!
Matt Brades and Samatha Lewin provided the brains in organising the Tourno, Jack Lubbatt excelled in financing the programme and pitch sponsorship. Darren Keeley organised The Referees, who were Andy Robinson, James Jarrott, Callum Brades, Ruairidh Barnes, Frank Francies, Phil Coles, Luke and Dan Stokoe, Martin Stone, Charlie Stone, Tom Stables, Neil Munday, Nathan Parrin, and Harvey Hall; as well as arranging for the Programme to be printed.
Chairman Rob Shed pulled all parts of the Club together, with dozens of parental volunteers in an exercise that takes months of planning by many. Apologies if you haven't had an individual mention?
Let's all do it again next year!
